General Info

UNEXTINCT is an outdoor walk-through experience. We recommend weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Umbrellas are permitted in the zoo.

If extreme weather or other conditions require that an evening of UNEXTINCT be cancelled, the ticket purchaser will be contacted via email.

All UNEXTINCT tickets are non-refundable.

Part of the immersive experience is the music which can at times be loud. This may cause discomfort for people with sensitive hearing. Noise-cancelling headphones are available upon request.

No refunds are available for UNEXTINCT tickets.

We strongly encourage that tickets be purchased in advance. However, if capacity permits, a limited number of tickets will be available for purchase the night of the event.

Yes, you may pay the difference to upgrade to a VIP ticket by calling (916) 808-5888. Upgrades must be done in advance and are not available at the door.

Enter the zoo through the Member/VIP Entrance. The admissions staff will scan your ticket(s) and hand you the VIP items.

Yes, absolutely! Tickets will arrive via email and can be forwarded to your recipient at your convenience.

*Note that any changes to the UNEXTINCT schedule will be sent via email to you as the ticket purchaser,
no communication will be sent to your gift recipient.

Yes, Sacramento Zoo members save approximately 15% off tickets. To receive any admission, event, or education program discounts, Sac Zoo members must have a login and password for the zoo’s website. Visit the Member Events & Resources page for instructions on this process.

No. A separate ticket is required for UNEXTINCT.

No. Daytime guests will exit the zoo entirely, and a separate ticket specifically for UNEXTINCT will be needed to re-enter.

6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Last entry is at 8 p.m.

Yes. Re-entry is allowed before 8:30 pm with a handstamp.

UNEXTINCT will take place rain or shine. However, if weather conditions are extreme and deemed unsafe, we will contact ticket holders about cancellation via email.

No. UNEXTINCT tickets are not eligible for an upgrade to a membership.

Free street parking is available surrounding the zoo throughout William Land Park.

No, the Sacramento Zoo resident animals will be in their nighttime dens during the event and will not be viewable. However, the Reptile House will be open until 8:45 pm. We recommend coming back to the zoo during the day to see all of the animals – daytime tickets can be purchased here.

UNEXTINCT is intended to be a 45- to 60-minute experience. But regardless of the time you arrive, once
inside the zoo, you may stay until 9:00 pm.

Carousel rides are FREE during the UNEXTINCT experience! The Conservation Carousel will be open from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Hours and availability are subject to change.

No. However, service animals are welcome. Please call ahead for arrangements.

No, with the exception of water. However, a variety of food and drink options will be available for purchase during the event.

Wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and with no reservation. Free of charge.

Stroller Jeeps are available for rent at $14.00 each.
